Sidmouth Town fought back from the concession of an extraordinary goal to end their recent losing sequence on Wednesday evening.

Bridport were the visitors to Manstone Lane and the new boys in the South-West Peninsula grabbed the lead in incredible fashion, Dan Baggs launching a shot from inside his own half that somehow had enough juice to find the Sidmouth net.

The best thing about the goal was the fact it was clearly no fluke, but neither was the Sidmouth response, as the Vikings laid siege on the Bridport goal. Even an injury to their goalkeeper failed to halt the Sidmouth pressure, with Ashley Small taking the gloves.

At the other end, Jordan Scadding had an inspired game in the Bridport goal but he was finally beaten by a Danny Pym penalty, as the game finished 1-1. The Vikings travel to Elburton Villa on Saturday.
