It was not a great weekend for results as Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club returned to league action.

Across four women’s sides and four men’s, the club recorded six losses, but fielding eight sides can always be deemed a success.

The women’s first team recorded a 2-2 draw when they played Winscombe 1 at home.
But the second team faced a tough challenge when they travelled to Exeter and Culm Vale Hornets, losing 7-1.

The third team were well beaten in their home game against Honiton Hornets, losing 0-4.
The women’s fourth team, which is now a development side, lost by a similar margin in their own home fixture against Isca and University of Exeter 7.

The first team was the only men’s side playing at home and lost by the odd goal in three, against Bristol Firebrands 2, but the second team secured a strong 7-0 win away against Bridgwater 3.

The third team did not fare so well, losing away at Dart 1, with the home side running away with a 9-1 win. The fourth team, which is also a development side, took on Ashmoor 4 in Totnes, but also lost, 3-0. All eight sides are in action this weekend.
