It was another challenging weekend for Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club with more losses than wins recorded.

With player availability proving to be a big problem on the men’s side of the club, the fourth team development side had to forfeit the game.

The first team travelled to Bristol to take on Westbury and United Banks and lost out by the odd goal in five, losing 3-2. The second team had a home fixture against Taunton Vale 3 but lost heavily 0-11 against a strong side.

The third team had a difficult encounter at home against Old Plymothian and Mannamedian (OPM). Conceding four goals in the early part of the game always put them on the back foot but they had a better second half and ended up losing 2-5.

The women’s side of the club fared a little better, recording two wins and two losses. The first team won 2-5 , away at Gillingham 1.

The second team suffered a heavy defeat at Exe 3, losing 11-0. The third team entertained Exe 5 at home and lost narrowly, 1-2. The fourth team, which is a development side, claimed a good victory when they beat Chard 2 in an away fixture, winning 0-2.
