Sidmouth Town 3rds put in an excellent display and were denied a deserved point against table toppers East Budleigh 2nds by a late penalty in a nine-goal thriller.

The game had swung end to end from the start and, with Jake Boyland's perfect hat-trick and Louis Adey weighing in with another, the Vikings were rampant in attack.

Unfortunately, it was the curse of Budleigh again, after losing to three own goals earlier in the season, this time it was two penalties, one of which came after keeper John Buckland met an advancing forward, saved from a tight angle and the two players collided. Unbelievably, the referee pointed to the spot and East Budleigh won.

It was a tough weekend for Sidmouth 2nds, as they went down to a 4-1 defeat at home to Kentisbeare. The Vikings improved after the break but never recovered from conceding three first-half goals, although Scott Hughes did grab a consolation.
