The new year is underway for Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) and, while the results were not a perfect start to 2023, the club continues to prosper with a number of competitive teams in the men’s and women’s section, plus a thriving junior programme.

SOHC formed in September 2012 as an amalgamation of two well-respected East Devon clubs, Sidmouth Hockey Club and Ottery Crickets Hockey Club.

The club social centre is Sidmouth Cricket, Tennis, Croquet & Hockey Club at The Fortfield in Sidmouth, with home venues for matches shared between Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary Leisure Centres.

The Junior Academy has over 150 active members – boys and girls. SOHC offer coaching and competitive team hockey for School Years 4-11. The Junior Academy is the heart of the Club and makes a major contribution to the development of young players to progress to our senior league teams.

SOHC enter age group teams into the Devon Junior Hockey tournaments and nominate players showing exceptional potential to the England Hockey Player Pathway for additional coaching and talent development.
