The monthly Peter Grant-Bailey Trophy competition was played by Sidmouth Golf Club Seniors and a new name was added to the roll of honour.

Steve Horn, with a fantastic 46 points, picked up the trophy and helped his team to win the top prize money.

On Friday in the Club Stableford, Russell Bess was back to winning ways with a fairly obscene 48 points, putting Richard Powell on a respectable 41 into second place. Bernie Millward picked up third.

This week's Monday Stableford had veteran Nigel Sharp honing his skills ready for the start of the season with a solid 41 points ahead of the ever-present Bernie Millward in second with 39, beating James Scrimshaw on countback.

They all also picked up the prizes in the Seniors competition, as the younger element probably felt it was too cold to go out or just didn't play their best on the day.
