A brilliant brace from Louis Jagger Cane extended the outstanding winning run to six matches for Sidmouth Town, as they cruised past Bridport with a 2-0 victory in the South-West Peninsula League on Tuesday night.

The Vikings had produced a superb performance to defeat an excellent Ivybridge side 2-0 on the weekend and Sidmouth started in superb fashion, Tom Bray forcing a top save from the visiting custodian inside the opening minute.

The Ivies did strike the crossbar on nine minutes but that was as good as it got for them, with Sidmouth creating a wave of opportunities. Luka Nickles, Liam Carey and Nathan Cooper all went close before a slick move was converted by Louis Jagger Cane midway through the first period.

The Vikings continued to dominate the game and fantastic to watch a side playing with such huge confidence. Victory was sealed by a delightful finish from Ashley Small early in the second period.

Ottery St Mary remain in mid-table of the Devon Football League after a 3-0 defeat at University of Exeter and it is another tough challenge this weekend, when the Otters welcome a dangerous North Molton side to Washbrook Meadows.
