The Presidents team at Sidmouth Golf Club, led by Sheila Faulkner, had a lovely day playing away at Honiton Golf Club at the end of April but sadly lost 4/3. Three matches were won and two were very close with losses on the 18th hole.

A team of 10 ladies played in the friendly at East Devon on May 2. A great day was had by all with a fabulous sunny start but a severe temperature drop with low cloud in the afternoon.

However, the match was halved, with two wins, two defeats and one halved game. A sociable meal followed and we hope to reciprocate the great hospitality from East Devon at the return match at home next year.

The Coronation Foursomes was coincidentally played on May 3 in King Charles’ Coronation week, so red, white and blue outfits were order of the day and a cream tea followed in the clubhouse.

The winners were Mandy Furniss and Liz Chance with 34 points and they go forward to represent the club on July 20 at Taunton and Pickeridge. The runners-up were Maria Clapp and Penny Lyne with 32 points. Good luck to all for the follow-up matches.
