Tipton’s bowlers were given a hard time at Blagdon Hill, although they did take two wickets with the score on 31 thanks to a catch by Lewis Davies off David Birch’s bowling and a fine run out by Amelia Tolley.

Two more followed when good catches by Reece Whittington off Phil Wright and Matt Davies off the bowling of John Buckland saw the score at 79-4. However, Louis Trotman joined his brother Elliott to pepper the boundary in an unbroken partnership of 182 which took their score to 261-4.

Tipton’s reply started badly losing John Buckland in the first over for 4. However, an 82 run partnership between Phil Tolley and David Thayre improved matters. When Tolley was bowled for 65 with the score at 110-4 Tipton were in trouble. However, a fine partnership between Matt Davies and Reece Whittington added another 50 before a run out.

Matt Davies hit a quick 53 from 35 balls but it was Louis Trotman who took a caught and bowled to end his spree. Cameo innings by Amelia Tolley (15) and Lewis Davies made the score respectable. Lewis (20) ended the innings by hitting a six but Tipton closed on 230-8, losing by 31 runs.
