In the Devon Football League third-placed  Beer Albion 1st’s came away from North Molton Sports Club with a well-earned 1-1 draw, writes Richard Honnor.

Since the Fishermen’s magnificent win against the Stags in the 2022 Devon Premier Cup, there has been a keen but highly-respectful rivalry between these two fine sides and very little between them on the pitch. This game was no exception.

The highlight of the first half was a stunning penalty save by Beer’s 'keeper Elliot Driver to keep his side on level terms going into the break.

Beer took the lead early in the second half through Centre Forward Josh French but had to settle for a point when North Molton‘s skipper Joshua Stoneman equalised with a header.

In Devon and Exeter Division 2, Beer Albion Reserves suffered their second consecutive league defeat going down 4-3 at home to local rivals Seaton Town in front of a crowd of 140.

The Fishermen trailed 2-0 lead at the break but pulled back to 2-2 within 15 minutes of the restart. Beer then conceded the initiative to a determined Seaton side, gifting the Seasiders two goals in a thrilling final 15 minutes. The Fishermen did pull back to 4-3 in added time but it was too late.
