Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club ladies’ first team led the way at the weekend, performing superbly to win 5-2 at Bridgwater 1, writes Andrew Coley.
The second team also claimed all the points, although, in their case it was a tighter result, with a 2-1 home victory against Exeter 4.
The third and fourth teams did not fare so well, with the third team going down 0-1 in a home encounter against Exeter and Culm Vale Hornets. The fourth team travelled to Exeter 5 , losing 3-0.
On the men’s side of the club, the first team came off second best against Taunton Vale 3, with a 0-2 home defeat. The second team’s away trip to Minehead was cancelled.
The needle match of the weekend was played between the men’s third team and the fourth team development side. Despite the competitive nature that any intra-club fixture brings, the final result was 0-0.
