It was a challenging weekend for Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club with only the women’s third team recording a win among the six teams that played, writes Andrew Coley.
The thirds claimed a 1-0 win in their home fixture against Exeter 5. Both the women’s seconds and fourths lost by the odd goal in five, with 3-2 defeats against Dart 2 in a friendly home game and away at Chard 2, respectively.
The women’s first team took part in a high-scoring match against Taunton Civil Service 1 at home and came away with a point, with the result 4-4.
On the men’s side of the club, the third and fourth teams didn’t play. The second team travelled to Tiverton to play White Eagles 1 and claimed a point in a tense goalless draw.
And the first team lost against Isca 3 in Exeter, which saw the home side win 6-1.
