A superb opportunity has arisen to help shape the future of Sidmouth Cricket Club.

As we creep toward another summer in the middle, Sidmouth CC is now accepting applications for the role of Director of Cricket.

The new Director of Cricket will Organise and oversee Adult training once a week in the summer (Wednesday evenings) and oversee the activities of the first team as predominantly a coach/player throughout the 21 weeks of the season.

The successful candidate will also organise and oversee Junior training in the summer (Friday evenings), organise and run a Junior summer camp programme – with 50/50 Profit Split in addition to salary, run 1:2:1 coaching for players (Junior and Senior) throughout the summer, sit on the selection committee for the Adult Teams, run Continual Personal Development for existing coaches and liaise with the local schools to organise coaching and taster sessions.

Sidmouth CC is offering a three-year package for the position with an initial five-month contract, running from April 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024, with remuneration up to £5,000 for the five months.

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of cricket in general. Be a minimum ECB Level 2 coach, however it would be desirable to hold a Level 3 or above as part of the role, with experience of working with adults and children.

The person needs to be a good communicator, with one of the key parts of the role being able to work with volunteers of the Club. The person must be well organised and have the ability to work on their own. Being a current player isn’t mandatory for the role, however, would potentially be an added benefit.

As well as the Director of Cricket, Sidmouth CC are looking to employ a new Assistant Groundsman and the new additions to the backroom team will be supporting exciting developments on the pitch, as the club has announced the signing of South African all-rounder Andile Mogakane for the 2024 campaign.

Mogakane has played more than 60 games across three different formats back home, as well as playing for South Africa Emerging Players against Zimbabwe.
