Sidmouth Netball Club's U17s girls have ended the season as champions.

Playing in their first ever senior league, the team claimed top spot in league division 2.

Starting in September, they have played through rain, sleet and sometimes snow to record 15 victories out of the 16 games.

This is a great achievement, with the only loss coming when a slightly depleted team took to court against last season’s run-away champions Ridge Roofing.

Across court there have been some fantastic partnerships.

In defence, Aoife and Lauren have intercepted countless passes and consistently disrupted the oppositions attack.

At the other end, Imogen and Ingrid’s shot accuracy and inter-play has, at times, been awesome.

The girls’ attacking play, from centre pass, has seen Matilda and Harriet quite literally flying at times with Niamh providing a consistently calming influence on play.

The wing play of Rose and Rosie has witnessed both attacking panache and defending rigour helped by our super-sub Flo, who was a welcome addition back in the team at the end of the season.

All-in-all a highly successful and enjoyable season was had - now it's time to turn up the heat in the summer league!
