Sidmouth Chess Club is set to open its 55th season.
The new season kicks off on September 10 at the Blue Ball Inn in Sidford.
The club welcomes new members of all abilities and ages.
The first hour of the evening, starting at 6pm, is dedicated to socialising and quick play games.
Coaching will also be available for inexperienced and young players.
Club competitions start at 7pm.
The club caters to people who value the social aspect of the game, as well as those who want to play serious chess.
Recently, the club held its AGM, where Patrick Dillon won the Fletcher Trophy for the club championship, Ian Gregory won the knock-out tournament trophy, Barry Perchard won the Bardwell Cup, and Andy Thompson won the Tice/Rayson trophy for graded sections of the club championship.
