JUST the one Otterton game beat the weather last weekend with the Saturday 1st team and the Sunday Morning XI both falling foul of the elements. The only side to see action were the Reserves and they were involved in a thrilling contest that ended 4-4, writes Andy Mitchell. The Otters managed to continue their recent excellent run of results, sharing the eight goals with Seaton Town but, given that the last goal of the game, scored by the visitors came in the 6th minute of added time, the Otters were left feeling that it was points dropped as opposed to one gained.Mark Tett fired the hosts ahead in the 13th minute but within four minutes Seaton were level. Tett was to have the final say of the first half, his second score taking the Otters into the break with a 2-1 advantage. The second half was barely ten minutes old and yet the home side had opened up a 4-1 lead thanks to a brace from Paul Sanders but the visitors were still very much in the game and a quick fire double from them set up a tense finish. Given that there were no second half injuries, the addition of six extra minutes at the end of the match was a mystery to all, but the visitors used the added time to their advantage and in the last of the half dozen they netted the eighth and final goal of the contest.l This coming weekend all three of the Otters' teams are back in action, weather permitting. The 1st team host Feniton in an East Devon derby, the Reserves travel to Morchard Bishop and the Sunday side travel to Barley Celtic.
