Sidmouth Raiders 5, Kentisbeare 1 Sidmouth Raiders Under-11s were good value for their first victory of the season with CJ Abbot the individual star, netting four goals, writes Alan Hallett.
In an even first half Abbot opened the scoring with a powerful header from a corner and just minutes later doubled his tally, breaking clear of the last defender before sending a delightful chip up and over the Kent’s keeper.
After the break the visitors pulled one back from close range as the Raiders defence froze, but within seconds a crisp passing moved was finished by Abbot crashing home his, and Raiders’, third goal.
Samuel Burhop added the fourth after yet another flowing move and Abbott finished what he started, rifling home a long-range shot to compete the scoring.
Every single player deserves praise for this performance with Abbot rightly acclaimed Man of the Match.
