Sidmouth Warriors U10s 4, Moors Youth 0Sidmouth Warriors U10s 6, Stoke Hill U10s 0Playing against a strong team, Sidmouth Warriors knew they had to be on top form and so it proved. Sidmouth started strongly and, when Connor Murphy picked the ball up in his own half, he outpaced the opposition and finished with a cracking shot for a great start. Sidmouth continued to push forward and earned a freekick. Harvey Sargent smashed the ball onto the crossbar and Ben Miller was on hand to tap in. Sidmouth weren't having it all their own way though and only excellent defending from Jamie Newbery and two top class saves from Finlay Marks kept Sidmouth 2-0 up at halftime. The second half started with the move of the match when Murphy passed a fine crossfield ball to Ben Miller and his superb cross was volleyed into the top corner by Alex Stone for a great goal. Ollie Jarrett and Joe Miller combined well to play in Murphy who placed the ball into the corner for a 4-0 victory, an excellent performance and best of the season.l The second match was totally one-sided and only poor finishing resulted in just six goals. Joe Miller and Ollie Jarrett both scored before the break and afterwards a Harvey Sargent double (1 a penalty) and Jarrett again gave Sidmouth a 5-0 lead. The highlight of the game came in the final minute when Jamie Newbery pushed forward from his normal defensive role and scored his first goal for two years with a fine shot into the corner for an emphatic 6-0 victory. That goal means that every Warrior player has scored this season!
