Sidmouth 2, Bude 5 Sidmouth 1st team went down to table topping Bude, but not before they had given a very good account themselves.

Unfortunately Sidmouth didn’t have the best of starts and, due to excellent skills from the opposition’s forwards, they soon fell a goal down.

Undaunted Sidmouth began to grow in confidence and they began to rack up the short corners which eventually led to an equaliser with Vicky scoring.

Bude then took charge and produced some lightning-quick counter-attacking play, adding three further goals to take a 4-1 lead into half time.

Sidmouth began then second half very smartly giving Bude no time on the ball and intercepting their long passes. That, coupled with some excellent marking, saw them manage, with a degree of comfort, the visiting attacks.

Jess Allen was a key player in a dominant second period for Sidmouth. Sarah Roberts scored the Sidmouth goal with a fierce strike, answered buy one more from Bude.

The Sidmouth Ladies can certainly take much fro the contest having played some of their best collective hockey this season.
