Sidmouth Cricket Club continued their impressive season by winning the Matt Stiling Club Challenge Cup for the first time. They put the footballers to the sword in the rugby match, despite some grave resilience from the holders, running out 35-10 winners, the cricketers' greater familiarity with the oval ball the telling factor. The rugby club then played the Football Club in a 12-over-a-side game of cricket. The Rugby Club were put in and made a respectable 99 in the failing light. The footballers reached their target with an over to spare, despite the bowling of some unlikely rugby players. The cricket and rugby players then entertained the Manstone faithful with a game of football at the Rec. Against the run of play, the rugby players took the lead, which only antagonised the cricketers who were convincing 7-2 winners, thus sealing the cup. Thanks to all who took part and those who were involved in getting these games on in what is a busy sporting schedule.Picture: Iain Burns.
