Sidmouth U9s v Cullompton
It was with some trepidation the U9s hosted Cullompton on Sunday with the opposition's reputation for strong running rugby and, it was understood, an unbeaten record this season.
With this in mind the coaching team spent 30 mins before the first game ensuring that there was no chance of Sidmouth making their usual gentle start. Well, we need not have worried, as the Sidmouth boys tore into their revered opponents with little or no respect for their reputation and quickly ran into a three try to one half time lead. The second half showed no letting up and finished with a score of 5-2 and a very happy home crowd. Both teams were changed for the second game and the same style of play continued with the Sidmouth boys tackling Cullompton to a standstill then applying their own pressure, running out 3-0 winners!
