Sidmouth Under-9s were given a fantastic opportunity recently to experience all the excitement of televised rugby when Aviva sent a film production team down to the Blackmore, writes Rob Bolton.
The youngsters experienced two hours of filming and interviews which will be screened on the ITV Premiership Highlights programme as short edits starting from the December 22 broadcast.
The experience was offered to the club after two members of the squad, Jack Garner and Finn Cotton, were interviewed at a Exeter Chiefs home game in November. The boys interviewed so well that Aviva subsequently asked if the SRFC squad would like to be involved in the production of ‘indents’ for the Premiership Highlights programme.
The whole occasion included interviews, filming of a training session, the squad running into camera and set up try scoring.
Aviva have also kindly offered the boys tickets to an Exeter Chiefs home game and to go along to a chiefs first team training session with an opportunity to meet the players exclusively after the session.
This is certainly a fantastic way to end the first half of what has been a very successful first half to the season.
