AVR duo Matt Clist and Garry Perratt ran the hilly 30-mile route at Sunday’s Sidmouth Saunter, writes Dave Mutter.

The event, organised by the Long Distance Walker’s Association, has checkpoints every five miles or so where drinks and food are available which makes it an ideal training run, particularly with teas, pasties and cakes at the finish.

The pair were (probably) fastest runners on that route, taking 5:05.

With four routes from 13 miles upwards there’s something for everyone and highly recommended.
