The Axe Vale Pony Club sent a team to Stockland Lovell near Bridgwater to compete in the Area 15 Inter Branch Pony Club 2008 Novice Challenge recently.

The Axe Vale Pony Club sent a team to Stockland Lovell near Bridgwater to compete in the Area 15 Inter Branch Pony Club 2008 Novice Challenge recently. The team of Laura Shillam riding Sparky, Georgie Trivett on Bill, Lauren Reed on Honeybee and Alice Perrott on Piper came fourth in the team competition on a score of 115.4 penalty points, less than two points behind the second placed team and a place in the next round. All girls had to complete a dressage test, a round of showjumping followed by an 'intro' cross-country phase.All competitors also entered the individual competition and Georgie came overall second, finishing on her dressage score of 33.2 penalties, and she now goes forward to represent the area in the national finals in Cheshire at the end of August.Emily King competed in the Open event and finished just outside the rosettes on her pony Timmy despite being the youngest competitor in the section.Laura Shillam, George Trivett, Alice Perrott and Lauren Reed with their Inter Branch eventing rosettes.ã
