Sidmouth Res 4, Exmouth Ams 3Sidmouth Reserves got off to a flyer last Saturday when Craig Badcock latched onto a poor back pass, rounded the keeper and from a tight angle slotted the ball into an empty net after five minutes of play.Ammies decided to return the favour two minutes later when the Exmouth centre forward did exactly the same at the other end to make it 1 -1!The Vikings took the lead after a fine flowing move down the left with Badcock receiving a great through ball from Jack Lewis to hit a shot in off the post. The striker then went on to to score his hat-trick in a whirlwind 12 minutes! Sidmouth went further ahead when Lewis was taken down in the box, the spot kick being put away by Jean-Paul Staniforth. Sidmouth were 4-1 up and cruising, or so you would have thought, but Exmouth pulled two goals back after some sloppy play at the back to make the score 4-3 and with 20 minutes remaining in the first half!There were no more goals in this period and in the second, the game calmed down somewhat with both teams having equal amounts of possession. Mike Stamp came on as sub and settled the team down as he won his tackles and passed the ball simply.There was no further scoring and Sidmouth were happy to hear the final whistle to win 4-3 Sidmouth manager Rowe said: "We had a great start and then tried to shoot ourselves in the foot by giving them three goals.
