Week two of the season’s Monday Stableford competition at Sidmouth attracted over 100 entries with Nigel Sharp cleaning up with 42 points which earned him a handicap reduction from 26 to 23, writes John Rockey.

Second with 41 points was Terry Jones whose handicap crept up to six recently which has now been reduced back to five as the result of his good score.

Third, with 37 points, was Neil Bunting a new member recently imported from Canada who seems to have got to grips with the course in record time. Neil’s handicap remains at 10 whist detailed research is undertaken into the Canadian handicapping system!

On the birdie count, Duncan Taylor, who missed out on getting any last week, scored a remarkable six birdies to go to the top of the table, with veteran George Carr sneaking into the list of those giving him a run for his money.
