There was no action for Beer Albion last weekend, but their future as a Fresha League top flight club was secured owing to results elsewhere.

The Fishermen have just one game remaining to complete their programme, but their current point’s haul of 29 cannot now be bettered by at least four teams.

The remaining game for Phil Crabb’s team is a trip to Mid Devon this coming Saturday for a game against Thorverton.

It’s the third meeting this term between Beer and the Thors as they met twice in seven days at the start of the season.

First up the Fishermen won the Fresha League meeting at Furzebrake 4-2 and a week later they won an East Devon Senior Cup tie at Thorverton 4-3 on penalties after the teams had drawn 2-2.
