Beer Reserves earned an away point in a 1-1 draw at lowly East Budleigh on Saturday, writes Richard Honnor.

Facing a side who had already conceded 40 goals in just nine starts, Beer took the lead through an Adam Brewer header and were well in control in the first half. East Budleigh got the equaliser in the second half and may have snatched a win, but for a fine performance by Beer keeper, Shaun Gould.

Assistant Manager, PJ Johns was disappointed with Beer’s performance. He said: “Our performances against leading sides have been good this season, so it is difficult to understand why we have dropped points against some of the sides who are struggling a bit. The team do recognise however, that today’s performance was below par and that they are capable of better things.”
