Beer Reserves continued their good run with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Langdon second team at the Furzebrake, writes Richard Honnor.
It was the Fishermen’s fourth win in the last five outings , moving them up to fifth position in the Fresha League Division Six table.
Beer deservedly led 1-0 at half-time through a Simon Smith goal after striker Robert Adkin’s header was saved.
Langdon equalised at the start of the second half only for Beer to restore their lead a minute later through Adam Brewer. Leading scorer, Robert Adkin, scored Beer’s third to seal victory for the Fishermen.
After the game player-manager, Simon Smith said: “I am delighted that the team are finding form again after an indifferent run towards the end of 2014. There’s much promise in the side and they nailed this particular victory without being too-stretched. For me, the stand-out individual shifts came from ‘veteran’ duo Robert and Martin Adkin.”
