Beer Albion entertain Exmouth Amateurs in what has the look of a classic basement battle in terms of the respective sides positions in then Fresha League Premier Division.

The Fishermen sit 11th whilst the Ammies are bottom.

The pair have already met this season with Ammies triumphing 2-1 when the pair contested an East Devon Senior Cup tie in Exmouth.

Furzebrake, so often a fortress for Beer in recent season has not been quite so forbidding for visiting sides this term. The Fishermen won their first two games at home, but in the last six it’s just one win, a 6-3 success over another of the top flight strugglers, Clyst Valley on November 17. Ammies have won just one Premier Division game this season.

Beer boss Phil Crabb knows how important the game is. He says: “We can ill afford to lose this one or we will go into the New Year right in the thick of a relegation scrap. I honestly think we are good enough to avoid that sort of a scenario. However, results so far this season suggest otherwise. What we need to do is to cut out the mistake making and be clinical with our goal scoring, stating with this one.”
