Morchard Bishop 6, Beer Albion 0 Beer dished up an abysmal all-round performance to return from a visit to Mid Devon with a heavy defeat to contemplate on the long journey home.

Fishermen’s boss Phil Crabb said: “I don’t think I have ever had the misfortune to see such an abject individual and collective performance from one of my Beer teams ever! We are currently seemingly in a cycle of either playing superbly or playing like beginners and the latter is very much how we performed at Morchard Bishop. Sometimes you get a bad day at the office, and this was certainly one of those!”

He continued: “Thank goodness we banked the three precious points the week before against Clyst Valley because much more of this and we’d have a problem. That said we have a very honest dressing room and everyone knew post-match that what had been dished up was sub-standard. I am sure we will see a suitable response next time out.”

That next game for Beer is a week on Saturday when they travel to Seaton Town.

Crabb feels being without a game this weekend is not a bad thing. He said: “This blank Saturday will give us a chance to reflect on just how bad we were at Morchard Bishop!”
