A superb 94 not out from opener Mark Bishop was the stand-out performance for Sidbury, as they secured an eight-wicket victory at Exwick to open their campaign in F Division East.

Opting to field first, Sidbury made an early breakthrough when Damien Armes bowled Michael Nunns for 9. Armes then skittled over Victor Murphy for two and Alex Paget claimed the wicket of Jamie Withers.

Philip Walker Jr. offered some resistance for Exwick, as he put together a patient 60 before eventually being bowled by Simon Rowe. Exwick finished with 172/7, as Armes and Dave O’Connor claimed two wickets each.

Ben Pollard and Bishop got off to a great start in reply, as Pollard reached 25 before being removed by Walker Jr., who then claimed O’Connor first ball. Paget joined Bishop and they comfortably rattled off the required runs. Bishop finished with 94 and Paget 40.
