Sidmouth and Ottery Hockey Club (SOHC) men’s 1st XI are now just one win away from securing the Southern Two title, and with it promotion, after they produced a superb all-round show to defeat OPM 3-0.

In true ‘champion style’ as the business end of the campaign arrives – there are just four matches left for the team in the league season – SOHC served up one of their better shows of the campaign to comfortably see off the opposition.

Chris Bishop produced the stand-out individual performance and he was also one of the goal scorers with the others to find the back of the net being Nick Mansfield and Ali Slade. Special mention should also be made of the contribution of Jack Ellison.

On Saturday (February 24), SOHC can seal the title, and in some style too, for they are away at Plymouth University A (3pm), who are second in the table and sit nine points behind SOHC with 12 points to play for. An away win in Plymouth this weekend will seal the deal for SOHC!
