Sidmouth men entertained teams from Crediton, Madeira and North Tawton who were representing the Exeter Over-60s League, writes Sue and Peter Mison.
It was a highly enjoyable afternoon with Sidmouth coming out on top by 62-56. Our winning rink was Ivan Robins, Bert Hague, Bob Daniels and Ron Cook who won by 29-11.
Three mixed teams travelled to Taunton Vivary, losing on all three rinks and overall by 57-69 after a close game.
Sidmouth played a mixed match against Feniton at home winning on two rinks and by 70-54. Well done to Sidmouth’s best rink David Butler, Wilf Radburn, Jane Painter and Sheila Burnand who won 28-10.
The ladies’ singles final will be played early this year to enable the winner to enter the Champion of Champions which is held before Sidmouth’s club finals day. Jill Bishop and Jean Brimson are the two finalists and the match will be played next Thursday, March 15, at 10.30am.
