Local boys Joel Badcock and Leon Sinker, both aged 13, from 2019 Air Cadet Squadron Sidmouth have been chosen to represent the Devon & Somerset Wing football team after trials at Norton Manor barracks, Taunton recently.
Badcock and Sinker were selected after taking part in sessions of football skills and mini games as well as competing against other cadets aged between 13-16 combined, who were from other squadrons from around the region.
Badcock plays in defence or midfield for West Hill Wasps U13s, who won the Div 2 Exeter Junior league last season, while Sinker, selected as goalkeeper, played for Sidmouth Warriors last season but has been unavailable this season.
Flight Lieutenant Dave Toomey, the CO of the Sidmouth squadron and the ATC staff are delighted for the boys and wish them the best of luck for the match which will take place at Tidworth garrison near Salisbury tomorrow, Saturday, February 2.
