In the latest Friday Stableford at Sidmouth Golf Club sponsored by Sidmouth Jewellers, Nathan Brace celebrated the end of his exams by scoring a good 40 points to win by one point, writes John Rockey.
Recovering from a bogey on the first hole, the youngster made a rare birdie on the difficult third hole to more than cancel out the bad start.
He then followed this with an eagle on the 13th hole which cancelled out two more bogeys on the 10th and 18th holes to give him a one over par round of 67.
Just one point behind was James Spiller who recovered from a disastrous start of dropping three shots in the first two holes, but a birdie on the 10th hole followed by an eagle on the par five thirteenth hole put him back on course for 39 points.
In third place was Matt Barratt with 37 points which could have been better had he not failed to score on the last hole.
