Brooks, Doyle and Smith win Centenary Triples at Sidmouth

Sidmouth Bowls club held the 2013 finals last week.
In the men’s two-wood R Cook was the winner with B Seldon the runner-up.
In the Club Championship John Mason was victorious over Jane Painter in what was an excellent display of bowling by both players.
In the men’s championship B Seldon beat reigning champion I Robins.
In The men’s two-wood championship T Holland was the winner with C Coates the runner-up.
R Cook beat R Tallent in the Men’s Handicap in what the tightest of finishes in a Handicap Final.
Mens pairs saw R Cook and J Doyle the victors over G Hudec and D Hughes, whilst G Blood beat J Greenaway in the Sid Hawkins Cup.
The Men’s Centenary Triples was won by R Brooks J Doyle and B Smith who beat R Tallent, G Hudec and J Mason.
In the mixed competitions there was a mixed pair’s success for D Butler and J Bishop against A and J Mason.
In the nominated mixed pairs the winners were E Hewett and K Bridgman with the gallant runners-up J and D Douglas.
The Victory Bowl was won by J Brimson, M Reader and R Cook against A England J Wrench and B Smith.
The Beer Cup final was won by D Butler, P Chew, B Hague and skip J Painter.
On Monday of this week Sidmouth hosted a touring team from Bristol who they defeated 122-102.
It was another enjoyable match in the sunshine and the visitors’ were served with a high tea before returning to home to Bristol.
