Busy weekend ahead for OSM bowlers

We are now just four weeks from the end of our outdoor season and will have a busy time this weekend with the finals of our internal competitions.
Last Wednesday, we had a very enjoyable evening when, for the first time, we invited members of Ottery Short Mat Bowling club to join us at our club for a friendly competition. I won't make too much of the fact that we won as we expect to be "slaughtered " when the return match on short mat is played in the autumn.
Last Thursday, we had a home friendly mixed triples match against Belmont Bowling Club, Exeter, which was won by Ottery. Our best winning rink with a score of 29 shots to nine was skipped by D Dalton with J Pinder as lead and J Ward as number two.
On Saturday, we again won a home friendly, against Axminster, and on Sunday we lost an away friendly against Sidmouth. As we all say, however ... "it's not the winning that matters in friendlies, but rather the enjoyment of good fellowship".

This Tuesday, we entertained a touring team from Supreme New Malden, Surrey, which we lost.
Although there are now fewer than four weeks to go before the end of the outdoor season, for just 15, you could enjoy all the benefits of bowling club membership until next spring.
