Charles Stanley Monday stableford success for Mike Beckman.

It was a strange outcome in this week’s Charles Stanley Monday Stableford, writes John Barnard.

Thirty-eight points was the winning score, but there were 17 players within two shots of the leaders total!

Pride of place, with 38 points, was Mike Beckman. Playing off a handicap of 28, four pars including the stroke index four, 16th and a good steady finish meant he beat Rod Wallace on countback. Rod was going well with a couple of birdies, but a bogie on the last hole cost him a win. In third place was Simon Knowles. There were eight plates on 37 points so Simon’s excellent back nine with seven pars was enough to get him into the prizes

In the Eclectic there is no change at the top with Mike Knight and Hugh Dorliac leading on nett 46, closely followed on 47 by Harrison Jones, Jonathan Lee and Simon Emerson and Chris Roberts. John Jones still leads the birdie count.
