The Devon Petanque Singles and Shooting Championships were held last week, writes John Thatcher.

Eight players took part representing clubs from Chudleigh, Exeter and Ottery St Mary.

Each time the runner-up was another Chudleigh player, Thierry Hacq.

Ottery St Mary players secured the next three berths with Peter Smith third, Rose Thatcher taking fourth and John Thatcher finishing fifth.
