Every season the FA distributes proceeds from the annual Community Shield match, the season’s opener between the League and Cup winners, to clubs to donate to the charities of their choice.

This year the Grecians have passed over the cheque for 2,000 to the club’s chosen charity partner, Devon Air Ambulance.

Pictured on the pitch is Fran Carnell from the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, receiving the cheque from City’s Bruce Henderson, who helped manage the process with the Football Association.

"With recent donations to CLIC Sergant, another donation made to DAAT via the RGB Water Day this week and the regular bucket collections on match days that help support local causes, plus the forthcoming Capital Taxis fund raiser for Dream A Way that will be staged in the club’s Grecian Lounge during the Walsall game, Exeter City is certainly doing its best to be a good citizen!" said Bruce.
