City win two in a week
East Devon Grecians
Exeter City beat high-flying, newly-promoted Rochdale who were unbeaten in the league this season, 1-0, moving them up to seventh in the table on Saturday.
On Tuesday there was another game for the Grecians in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at the home of Hereford Town who, with only five points to their name, are holding up League Two with only one win this season.
The result was a resounding 3-0 win with goals from Duffy, Nardiello and O’Flynn . This is a competition that Paul Tisdale appears to be taking seriously and this is good news if it helps keep the winning habit.
Another good reason is, of course, that we are now only three wins away from Wembley- cracking stuff!

Rochdale had won only one out of 22 previous matches at St James Park. The Grecians had not lost at home since last February and were looking to bounce back from a heavy 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth AFC.
The victory was more than enough to forget the Bournemouth blues, with 16 points in the bag and a comprehensive performance and victory enjoyed by over 5000 fans.

Rochdale had won four of their last six games in a fine run of form, but Jamie Cureton’s goal in the 49th minute gave Exeter City another well earned three points.
Manager Paul Tisdale said afterwards: “It was only 1-0, but I thought we deserved more. It was a fantastic team performance. At 1-0 you always have a chance of conceding a goal, but we played extremely well and never looked like conceding against a side that has been in good form.”
This Saturday, it’s a trip up to Walsall, who are at the bottom of the npower league one with only seven points and whose home record includes one win and four losses. Another away win? Manager Paul Tisdale will leave nothing to chance. Come on you Reds!
