COLTS training at Sidmouth Cricket Club tonight has extra significance as fun and serious elements are included in the proceedings.
The fun side comes through the Fort Field being one of a select number of venues hosting A Proper Day At The Cricket, featuring Yorkshire Tea served from a globe-trotting converted ice cream van named Little Urn.
Sporting goods firm Barrington Sports will be on hand to get everyone involved in fast-paced, pitch-side games with top-notch cricket bats and goody bags up for grabs.
The Proper Day At The Cricket events are open to all, whether members of the club or not.
During the evening a Devon Cricket Board officer will be monitoring coaching activities to ensure that the club ticks all the boxes in order to retain its Clubmark accreditation, which indicates a safe, quality environment for cricket to be learned and enjoyed.
