Coombs back at the helm

Sidbury Utd are delighted to announce the return of former manager Mel Coombes, with former manager Jeremy Schofield having to take a step back due to family commitments, but staying on as assistant/coach.

After Coombes agreed to take the helm the playing staff has increased, despite losing a few players to other clubs in the area.

Pre-season training has gone well and results in friendlies have also been encouraging but, most pleasing, is the new brand of football being played, with Sidbury’s last game ending in a 10 - 2 win over Budleigh. Coombes said: "Its just great to be back in football, Sidbury Utd Football Club has always been a special place for me and now, with the level of professionalism so high, it’s a pleasure to working there again. I was extremely proud of my achievements last time but it would be great to get promoted to Premier this time round.

“As usual, we have some exciting players at the club, which, again, will prove hard to keep at this level, but even so, with the way we are going in our work, we will be giving everything we got to achieve something this season."

?Sidbury 2nds will now be run by Stuart Selley, they are still in Div 4 and have a good squad, but manager Selley would like to get some fresh faces in, and would like to give the youth a chance.
