The twenty-sixth and penultimate round of the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday night league was won Steve Crabb with 36 points, writes John Barnard.
For no obvious reason, scoring seems to have become quite difficult so Steve won with one of the lowest scores for a while.
He had a poor start, bogeying the first, not scoring on the third and double bogeying the eighth. From thereon, his round improved birdying holes nine, seventeen and eighteen.
Howard Cushing was second on 35 points, just beating Stuart Coles on countback. Playing off a handicap of 20, Howard got four pars, offset by a number of double bogies but it was enough to just hold off Stuart, who will be regretting not scoring on the fifth which cost him a win.
There was no change in the Sidmouth Jewellers Friday night. Mark Thomas obviously planned to be a long way ahead in the league so he could enjoy a relaxing Scottish break!
