Cricket fans believe that heavyweight hitter Jos Buttler will be England's leading run scorer at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

The one-day specialist has been backed to lead the run scoring charts for England at cricket's greatest global event that will hit these shores at the end of May.

Buttler was the lead name with 80 per cent of the vote in an exclusive poll carried out by ICC Travel & Tours.

More than 1,000 fans completed the poll and alongside Buttler, 54 per cent believed Pakistan's wonderful collection of talent will lift the trophy at Lord's in July.

With the one-day game smashing records all the time, 69 per cent of people believe the record for the fastest 50 will go up in smoke with the likes of India's Virat Kohli and Baber Azam of Bangladesh leading the charge in grounds around England and Wales.

59 per cent also think Glenn McGrath's record of 26 wickets is under threat for the most wickets taken in a single tournament.
