Sidmouth 2nd XI banked a second successive full house of Francis Clark Premier Division points with an emphatic win at Heathcoat.
The Mid Devon side won the toss and batted first. They made a steady start and reached 50 for the loss of a single wicket after 18 overs.
A change in bowling brought about a dramatic change in the flow of the contest!
Charlie Dibble was introduced to the attack and he promptly claimed six wickets for just 15 runs from nine overs in two spells!
Amongst the Dibble wickets were two fine catches in the deep from Dec Lines and a slick stumping by wicketkeeper Matt Hewer.
Harvey Sargent, Nick Mansfield and Will Gater picked up single wickets as Heathcoat were bundled out for 104.
The Sidmouth run chase was aided in the early stages by opener Nick Gingell twice being put down! The batsman certainly made the most of his good fortune as he went on to stroke the ball to all parts of the picturesque Heathcoat ground.
It took just 15 overs for Sidmouth to sail to a perfect ten wicket win with the Gingell contribution an impressive unbeaten 83 from just 54 balls faced!
Teenager Harvey Sergent was at the other end and he finished unbeaten on 12.
Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the half way stage in the Francis Clark Devon league season and Sidmouth II entertain North Devon looking for three successive big points haul wins.
