Sidbury have two Under-10 teams this season and they ventured to Thorverton to meet the Thors girls team.

Batting first, Ellie Monro Higgs and Daisy Grove gave Sidbury a solid start and were followed by the pairing of Lucy Tanner and Immy Bagwell who managed four fours between them in one over!

The innings really opened up when Henry Tanner and George Tanner started running almost every ball scoring 34 off their four overs. Cleo Turley and Esme Bagwell finished the batting off with a couple of boundaries and the Sidbury innings closed on a respectable 281.

The home side were hit by an excellent opening spell from Ellie Monro Higgs who claimed a wicket with the third ball she sent down. There was also an excellent spell with the ball from Henry Tanner who picked up a fivefer which all left the final Thors pair requiring 58 from the final four overs. They started strongly hitting six fours and one six, but were held in check by strong bowling from Esme Bagwell and Cleo Turley who collected three wickets in their overs to leave the home side 31 runs short. This weekend Sidbury U10s are again in action against Ottery whilst Sidbury U8s are up against Whimple.
