Sidmouth II were 159-run winners as they put Plymouth to the sword at Fortfield and by stumps, it was the home team that had also taken over at the top of the Tolchards Devon League 2nd XI Premier Division table.
Plymouth journeyed to East Devon as the table-toppers, but they were comfortably removed from their lofty perch by a home side that looked stringer in every department!
Matthew Hewer was the star of the show as he scored a second successive league century (and his third ton in all forms of cricket inside a week).
Another classic Hewer innings was finally ended with his personal contribution being 111!
William Gater was another to impress with the bat as he scored an excellent 56 with seven fours and three sixes. The others to make contributions with the bat were; Nick Mansfield (31), Declan Lines (26) and Joe Griffiths (20) as the home innings closed on 279-7.
The run chase got off to a blistering start Joe Griffiths claimed a brace of wickets, between which there was a smart run out created by Miles Dalton. England lady international Jodie Dibble was next into the action ad the visiting batsmen found her left arm spin very difficult to come to terms with! Dibble, bowling in tandem with her uncle Charlie, claimed the impressive figures of 4-26 from a full nine over shift.
Toby Seldon, Matt Hewer and Charlie Dibble each claimed a single wicket as Plymouth were bowled out for 120 in 37.4 overs.
