Sidmouth III bank maximum haul of points in Bideford win

Sidmouth III were 17-run winners in an entertaining B Division (East) encounter with Bideford II.
Batting first, Isaac Thomas and Josh Mynett opened the Sidmouth innings, but were parted early on with Mynett caught and bowled for two. Graham Munday joined Thomas and the pair enjoyed themselves with Munday scoring 43 with six fours and Thomas going on to his the sides top score of 64 from 91 balls faced with eight fours and one six.
Tom Overthrow contributed 12 before a 37-ball stay at the crease by Marc Jenkins added 57 runs to the total with Jenkins slamming seven fours and a pair of sixes.
Will Eveleigh made four before be became the final wicket to fall with Bruce Robson (0) and Richard Jones (1) the not out batsmen. Lee Clayden, Thomas Simons and Jordan Fowler were the three Sidmouth batters not to get to the wicket as the innings closed on 238-6 after 45 overs.
The Bideford reply got off to an excellent start with the top three batsmen all getting themselves in. Home skipper John Weeks top scored with 57, but once the first three batsmen had been returned to the pavilion the remaining wickets fell at regular intervals with the final wicket falling to the first ball of the 45th and final over with the reply on 221.
Thomas carried on from his excellent work with the bat by returning the impressive bowling figures of 4-18 from 7.1 overs and Munday claimed 3-32. Lee Clayden (2-38) and Thomas Simmons (1-42) were the other wicket takers.
